Attaching Files and Images

Each piece of content can have a single file and thumbnail attached to it which is considered its main image/file.

These images and thumbnails or files are displayed depending on the design of the template for that piece of content.

Attach a File or Image

Main File/Image
This contains the filename of the attached file or image, a list of available types are shown below in the Content Key.

Thumbnail
This contains the Image thumbnail name.

These fields may be used to name a graphic rather than uploading one, for instance if you have uploaded a file or image already, for another piece of content, and wish to use the same file or image again for this piece of content.

Click the Browse Browse File Store button to view and select from all uploaded images and files within the web servers stores.

From this catalogue window select a file or an image to attach and click it, you will be asked if you are sure you wish to use this file/image, click either Yes or No, the window will close and if Yes was selected then the filename will appear in the relevant field.

A direct link to another website image can be placed in this box. i.e. http://www.Madrats.com/i/logo.gif will show that graphic from that website.

Upload New File / Image

Browse your own drives or camera stores to find a file or image to upload.

When uploading an image of type .jpg, .gif pr .png then you have a few options;

Radio Button This is a Thumbnail - Indicates you are uploading a thumbnail image, resulting filename will be placed in the thumbnail field.
Radio Button Create a Thumbnail from this image - Will upload as a main image and create a thumbnail from it.
Radio Button Don't Create a Thumbnail - Upload as a main image and do not create a thumbnail.

Checkbox Force Longest side to [ ] - This allows the longest side of the image being uploaded to be reduced to an acceptable size to fit in with your design. Images are reduced in size keeping the aspect ratio correct.

Ideally it is recommended that images be resized prior to uploading as resizing done by web servers is not as perfect as resizing within a dedicated program such as Adobe PhotoShop or similar. There are many online image resizers available if you do not have one available.
